2 Leechers
Leechers are individuals addicted to Requiem. Unlike Wraiths, whose bodies permanently adapt to Requiem, Leechers repeatedly inject themselves with small doses in pursuit of temporary power and euphoria, often destroying their bodies in the process.
Even the smallest quantity of Requiem can produce an intense, almost euphoric high far beyond any conventional narcotic. Survivors may temporarily manifest unstable Requiem abilities, though these powers are unpredictable, short-lived, and often accompanied by severe physical deterioration. Many die from poisoning long before developing any meaningful control.
Driven by addiction rather than ideology, Leechers commonly organize into gangs that dominate abandoned buildings, underground tunnels, and the forgotten districts of large cities. Although lacking the resources of Wagers or the discipline of DOSE, their numbers and brutality make them a constant threat.
Leechers are infamous for hunting isolated or wounded Wraiths, harvesting their Requiem blood to fuel their addiction or sell on the black market. For this reason, they are often referred to as the vultures of Requiem, striking only when their prey is at its weakest.
Unlike most criminal organizations, Leecher gangs rarely maintain stable leadership. Alliances are temporary, betrayal is commonplace, and violence between fellow addicts is an everyday occurrence. While they may unite under a powerful leader for short periods, greed and addiction inevitably tear their groups apart.
Among both Wraiths and Wagers, Leechers are viewed as expendable scavengers—dangerous not because of their strength, but because desperation makes them fearless.
